Guiding Principles of Foundation Support for Programs

  • they are consistent with our area of expertise
  • they will have a continuing impact
  • have the potential to form partnerships with other grantmakers, government organizations and individuals in the private sector
  • they complement rather than duplicate the work of other programs
  • they fund direct services to target populations and support related program staff

Focus of the Foundation
Particular interest is taken in environmental education programs in Jewish and Israeli education that:

  • value experiential education through creating innovative programs using the natural environment as a teaching tool
  • promote local community change through positive interactions between children and adults community members working together towards sustainable change
  • support green practice by developing learning environments that are committed to being a model for green living
  • recognize environmental justice issues by serving the needs of at-risk and underserved populations in the local community
  • seek social justice by encouraging cultural diversity, tolerance and equal acceptance and accessibility to the program for all community members
